Richard Nicoll Spring/Summer 2015–For spring/summer 2015, designer Richard Nicoll sought to create a future hippie. Metallic fabrics and loose silhouettes helped Nicoll accomplish this task. Tackling basics such as the pocket tee or the increasingly popular bomber jacket, wrinkled fabrics gave way to a certain nonchalance. A gingham jumpsuit here. A hooded sweater there. A couple of printed shorts or throw in a gradient print shirt for good measure. Nicoll served up a wardrobe of comfortable separates that attempted to offer a new take on timeless essentials. Rag & Bone No Show–WWD reports that New York-based label Rag & Bone will be opting out of a runway show for its spring/summer 2015 collection. Instead, photographer Andreas Laszlo Konrath has shot portraits of NBA star Carmelo Anthony, photographer Glen Luchford, tattoo artist Alex McWatt and female model Camille Rowe wearing the new collection as styled by Clare Richardson. Rag & Bone designer Marcus Wainwright explains, “For spring '15, our instinct was to challenge traditional ways to present a collection and instead of a show or going down the traditional fashion photography route, we envisioned a cool and elevated portrait series. The cast is pretty different but that was the point; to create striking portraits which really reflect and celebrate each person's individual spirit and style and in the imagery you can see that everyone owns their look.”

Christopher Shannon Spring/Summer 2015–Designer Christopher Shannon took another page from adolescence when approaching his latest collection. Boyish models hit the catwalk for Shannon, brooding with chipped painted nails and braided knots. Mirroring the wall of a teenage boy, oversize sweatshirts, t-shirts and more were dressed in collages created by hand. Making the dress shirt playful, cut-outs were added in addition to volume. Married to boxy shorts and loose elongated polo shirts, Shannon created a fantasy world where streetwear collides with the notion of endless youth. View More

Embracing a somber color palette with a fiery splash of red, Roach created a lineup of looks that maintained a combative yet soft identity.  James McAvoy by Matthew Brookes for InStyle James McAvoy on Style–InStyle caught up with X-Men actor James McAvoy to discuss the latest film in the franchise and interestingly enough, touched on notes about style. Talking about the 70s style era as seen in the movie, McAvoy confesses, “Fassbender hates it, but I love the clothes. I actually owned a pair of brown bell-bottoms—not for a role—that were maybe slightly too tight for me when I had them.” When talking about red carpet style, it’s another story unfortunately. McAvoy shares, “I’d run a mile from a suit if I could, but if I have to wear one, it’s Prada or Burberry.”

Agi & Sam Spring/Summer 2015–Agi & Sam designers Agi Mdumulla and Sam Cotton sought to disrupt boring menswear standards for spring/summer 2015 and they did just that with the help of relaxed silhouettes and inspiration from the east. Hitting the runway with short bobs, freckled face models introduced a clinical study of the Agi & Sam point of view. Strict with color, white, blue and camel hues dressed separates that took the shape of a kimono. Loose and boxy, roomy tops, aprons, billowing shorts and more contributed to a solid lineup that when deconstructed offers a refreshing take on the modern warm-weather wardrobe. View More

Dapper Gandy–One of the stars of London Collections: Men, not to be missed in the front row of shows, British model David Gandy attended the One For The Boys Charity Ball. Dressed dapper for the occasion, David went the whole nine yards, wearing an impeccably fitted waistcoat with a check jacket. Rising to fame as a model, David is proud of his profession, sharing, “I’m a model. I’m probably one of the few guys who is proud to say but that’s what has given me the opportunities to do all these great projects. You have actors who started as models who criticize modeling and the fashion industry. I’ve always wondered why they do that.”

Staying true to his sportswear roots, the season’s theme was applied to the collection with a minimal hand. DKNY Spring/Summer 2015–Taking its show across the pond this season, DKNY provided London Collections: Men with an American touch. Baseball served as a sporty backdrop for the DKNY man, aiming to take the great American pastime international. Baseball shirts with the DKNY logo were paired with relaxed pleated trousers and boxy mid-length sleeve tops layered over button-downs. Continuing the fluid lineup, outerwear had a loose structure.
