Beckford on Race in the Industry–Supermodel Tyson Beckford recently stopped by HuffPost Live to talk about his participation in the Supermodel Cycle, which will benefit the Boys and Girls Club. However, the topic quickly changed to diversity in fashion and the modeling industry. Beckford shares, “Out of all the industries I find…me personally and I think that a lot of people will agree with me…that fashion is very racist.” He explains how few models of color are cast for jobs these days when compared to their white counterparts, especially for female models. Beckford adds, “This past season during fashion week, you might go to a show and it’s all white girls. Not one Asian or Black or Latino girl was in it. It kind of makes that ethnic race of people feel like they’re not important or being catered to. There’s more diversity needed in it. But fashion is the most racist business out right now.”

We look forward to growing Buffalo even further as a powerful lifestyle brand.”

CEO of Z Partners Licensing Robert Zarabi adds, “We are honored to be in the men's underwear business with Buffalo David Bitton, we could not have selected a better partner. Today there's a definite void in the men's underwear market for a younger fashion minded guy that wants styling, innovation and is unwilling to compromise. The opportunity to bring this iconic brand into men's underwear will allow us both to develop the brand and category for many years to come.”

The Beckhams on ModelingDavid Beckham recently caught up with GQ UK and the subject of his sons modeling came up in conversation. Following in their father’s footsteps, both Brooklyn and Romeo Beckham have experienced modeling firsthand. While Romeo received an early start, fronting the spring/summer 2013 campaign of Burberry, Brooklyn recently made his debut on the cover of Man About Town. For both boys, David was on set for the shoot.

He admits that Broolyn needed more help sharing, “I guided Brooklyn a little bit more. He has that kind of look going on, so once he got into it he was great. They both really enjoyed it, but at the end of the day they get pictured everyday, unfortunately, so in many ways it’s nothing out of the ordinary for them.” David continues, “I was on both shoots with the boys, and Romeo didn’t need much guidance at all – Mario Testino did the shoot and wanted him looking very natural. It was important he was seen as a kid because that’s exactly what he is, he’s 11-years-old.”

Moschino in London/www.moschino.com">Moschino is the latest label to join London Collections: Men’s lineup. Moschino creative director Jeremy Scott will be showing his first men’s collection for the label on June 16th. A Moschino representative told WWD that Scott’s London show was “instinctive, for fun and inspirational.” While Scott should feel a certain comfort, having shown his namesake label in the city before, the London show makes sense as the smaller arena will undoubtedly make Moschino a star of the London season. Moschino also recently shared a preview of Scott’s designs for the label.
